Introduction to Ethics & Morality
For many years, workplace health, safety and wellbeing has been aligned with the concepts of morality and ethics. Many of us have passively accepted these concepts without actually clarifying what they mean, or questioning the moral obligations which they appear to assign to us all. This course will enable delegates to recognise and utilise key ethical concepts as part of their everyday roles. Throughout the course delegates will participate in engaging and practical thought experiments enabling them to engage and explore the topic relative to their roles and responsibilities.

This course is suitable for those in a leadership or managerial role. It is particularly relevant for those responsible for the health, safety and well-being of employees.
Topics covered include:
This qualification covers the following topics:
-Explanation of key terms
-Common ethical models and approaches
-Moral dilemmas and their effect on workplace compliance.
-Justice, fairness and moral obligations.
-Should/ought and their relationship.
-Ethical creep and its implications for compliance.
-Codes of ethics, Ethical practices and applications.
-Incorporating and communicating ethical and moral contracts.
By the end of the session delegates will have a greater understanding and ability in the following areas:
-Key terms and how to use them.
-Recognise and apply different ethical models appropriate to H&S policy and procedures.
-Understand factors which influence ethical/moral standards and their effects on compliance.
-The creation, communication and incorporation of ethical codes and contracts.
All delegates will complete a workbook activity and receive a certificate of attendance.
Individuals can attend our open courses or alternatively, this course can be run In-house for up to 8 delegates
