Under Driver CPC (Certificate of professional competence), professional bus, coach and lorry drivers have to complete 35 hours of accredited training every five years. Drivers that obtained their vocational licence before the introduction of Driver CPC have five years from its introduction to complete their required 35 hours. The aim of Driver CPC is to reduce road casualties by ensuring and maintaining all bus, coach and lorry drivers are up to date with legislation and trained to a high standard.
